LIAM SMITH DIVISION THREE (COMMUNITY FIRST) CANDIDATE
Bayview Heights - White Rock- Mt Sheridan - Woree
Cairns born and bred, Liam Smith grew up in Bayview Heights running barefoot through the rainforest. He went to Trinity Anglican School in White Rock, was involved in Bayview Heights scouts for 12 years, and lives at Mt Sheridan.
Division 3 Candidate Liam Smith is a Communications Paraprofessional with Ergon and holds an electrical engineering associate degree. He feels privileged to provide services across the region he loves from Thursday Island to Birdsville.
He has represented his workmates on a range of issues fromamenities in the field to safety investigations & has always been a passionate campaigner for workers’ rights.
Liam's fiancé is a small business owner and nurse - "the light of my life" - and through her he has come to understand the struggles and successes of small business in Cairns. Cairns Council Liam Smith is thankful to the Cairns community for the opportunities that have been afforded him and would like the chance to preserve and build upon the lifestyle that Cairns has to offer.As a keen mountain biker, he is particularly excited to see Cairns become a premier destination for the sport.

Shane Cuthbert first met Liam as a volunteer on the Federal Election Campaign for Elida Faith. Liam has an extensive background in supporting Unions and the Australian Labor Party.

The Cairns Regional Council Election will take place in 2024 and Shane Cuthbert is well placed, as a politically active member of the Cairns community to comment on the many Cairns Divisional candidates and Mayor position up for grabs.
